Wu Haozheng

Wu Haozheng, a visual creator born in Suzhou, draw inspiration from nature and Chinese Buddist philosophy. He is currently perusing MA degree at the Visual Communication department of the University of Macau, majored in Photography and Digital Media Art.

The study of philosophy and history as well as the observation of nature and society both enriched Wu's artistic inspiration. In his projects, photography, installation, videography and other mixed media used as experimental tools to seek uniqueness and eternity, constructing a Zen utopia of Seeming Real but Not Real.

His current works are based on the changes of time, and through in-depth searching for the traces left behind in nature. He explores the way of visual presentation of the “The Smallest May Hold the Largest”-style of Chinese aesthetics, constructs the realm of “Chongdan” in the Twenty-four Modes of Poetry. His goal is to recreate the ancient nature calmly hidden in the tide of the times.

Wu's photographic work, The Realm of Oyster, won domestic and international awards such as the 2023 Prêmios Artes Plásticas da Fundação Oriente: Honrosa, 20th IPA International Photography Award: Official Selection & Honorable Mention, China Packaging Creative Design Competition: Creative Photography Award of Merit, exhibited at Blank Wall Gallery, Athens, Greece, Artron Art Center, Beijing, Orient Foundation, Macau, etc. And He was also shortlisted for the 29th National Photography Art Exhibition and other important exhibitions.
